Pros

Aspects that make this credit card amazing.

  • Very high reward rate in the form of airmiles and hotel points. No other card provides such high reward rate across the spend categories including offline spend
  • Spend done on airlines and hotels’ own websites; and offline payment at hotels and airlines owned outlets give 10% airmiles or hotel points. This is very high reward rates on such spend.
  • Free Airport Lounges available with this card can also be used for accompanying guests (friends or relatives)
  • Attractive milestone benefits which enhances the reward rate further.
  • Spend on Education is considered for both regular reward points and milestone points. Most of the credit cards nowadays do not give any points on education spend down through third party apps.
  • Atlas Card’s reward points can be converted into Accor Hotels points (ALL points). Value of 1 ALL point is Rs.1.9 which increases effective value back on this credit card to 7.6% (2000 Accor ALL Points = EUR 40)

Cons

Aspects this credit card lacks.

  • Renewal fee cannot be waived-off irrespective of the spend done in previous year
  • High reward rate is only possible if the Edgemiles (reward points) are converted into airmiles or hotel points
  • It does not give real cashback
  • Card is not good if spend is less than Rs.3 Lacs in a year as the annual fee may not be recovered.

Axis Bank’s Atlas Credit Card stands out as the best travel credit card in the premium category. It offers exceptional rewards, particularly in the form of air miles and hotel points, making it highly valuable for frequent travelers. The card also features an excellent airport lounge access program, which extends to accompanying friends and relatives, enhancing its overall utility. Overall, its a must have credit card for people who goes on holidays even once in a year.

However, the card carries a steep annual fee of Rs. 5,900, making it less suitable for those with annual spending below Rs. 3 lakh. In such cases, there are more cost-effective alternatives available. This card is ideally suited for individuals who spend over Rs. 7.5 lakh annually and have a passion for travel.
